Dental Assistants need no additional training or experience to be qualified to work as Medical Assistants. That’s because our practical training approach with a vital mix of classroom learning, extensive hands-on instruction and customized Medical Assistant externships, enables New York School students to gain the skills, experience and self-confidence needed for employment in the medical field.

With a certificate in Medical Assisting from The New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants
graduates are qualified for positions as Medical Assistants in doctors’ offices, clinics, hospitals...all
areas of the healthcare field. They are also eligible to sit for the Certified Phlebotomist Exam (CPT) and the Registered Medical Assistant Exam (RMA). These national certifications are Medical Assistant credentials that provide a competitive edge no matter where our graduates go.
